WHISPER BOX is a first person horror experience utilizing a retro styled point-and-click interface with text adventure elements, designed for adults with an interest in classic gaming and communication with the dead.

Whisper Box was my final project from the Applied Principles: Game Design class at SCAD.  I lead a team with programmer, Michael Gu, and with asset contributions from Everett  Stephens and David Fu in the making of this game. Besides managing the team, I illustrated all final assets, wrote the game score, all lore and in-game text, and animated all sprites.

Trapped...

But not alone.

You play as Walter Kaczmarek, an old man who decides to check on his reclusive neighbor, a hoarder named Georgia, after noticing her lights have been off for several days. Assuming the worst, he enters the hoarder den but finds himself quickly trapped and injured.

As he makes his way through the maze of junk in Georgia's house, Walter discovers an old answering machine which Georgia has been using to communicate with lost spirits tied to the hoarded objects. To escape, Walter must use the Whisper Box to commune with the restless dead who have taken over the property.
