This altar was discovered in a separate pocket dimension inside a Xixian hierophant's chamber. The bizarre weapon at the center is thought to be to be ceremonial by some,  or simply experimental by others. The artifacts scattered around the altar spanned great distances in the human timeline, suggesting that the owner visited earth many times over at least a thousand years to gather either information or trophies.

 

I made this scene for the Advanced Digital Sculpting class at SCAD. The concept is based on the world of my board game, In The Xixian Shadows. This project pushed my limits as an artist, as I had a short time to produce it, and I had elected to create a rather ambitious amount of props.
